Denver Travel Guide

So this is one of those seasons where there is so much to do, yet so much you can actually control. So Alex and I decided to celebrate this fall season by going to Colorado. A little spur of the moment weekend trip & a break from wedding planning/ furniture shopping.

I have recently seen so much adorable yet eccentric places to explore in Denver. PLUS Denver is just beautiful alone. Here are a few places Alex and I went to and places we passed that were just SO cute, but we just didn’t have time to go in.

It’s for sure a little dangerous to visit Denver in October because this modern and hip city may convince you to stay!!

What to see/ explore:

  • Beet and yarrow: If y’all follow me on instagram you will know that I’m obsessed with flowers. This has to be one of the best flower shops I have ever visited. You will also find a selection of home goods and gifts. (good for souvenirs).

  • Red Rocks: We did not end up making it here. BUT it’s known for its notorious concert venue! They also offer free places to hike.

  • As we were looking for places to hike we found: Torreys Peak, Mount Galbraith, Devils Head, Broomfeild, etc. We ended up going to Lookout Mountain to watch the sunrise. This is for sure something you should do! The sunrise was absolutely gorgeous.

Where to eat:

  •  Prosper oats: Wow I’ve never been to a restaurant like this before! It’s seriously so cute. Its basically a build your own yogurt, acai, mixed green, steel-cut oat bowl. All the ingredients are locally based.

  • City, O city: This another healthier option. They serve breakfast, lunch & dinner. The environment here is SO cool, hip & modern! They had the BEST gluten free waffles!!

  • Snooze A. M. Eatery: For sure a must go breakfast cafe in Denver! They have amazing pancakes.

  • HashTAG: Y’all the atmosphere is DOPE. (good place to take cute pics for sureeee.) This was one of the most ascetically pleasing restaurants. It’s extremely colorful and HAPPY!

  • Cattivella: Basically little Italy in Denver! You can literally smell the food from outside the door. This is a very modern Italian restaurant. They even offer cooking classes, cocktail classes, and Italian conversational lessons. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time! They were booked when we walked in.

  • Next Door Eatery: Another hip and delicious gluten free option. This is a super casual and affordable restaurant.

  • Work and Class: Wow we for sure need one of these in Texas. Such a fun and young environment! There are healthy options and the they are known for their delicious drinks.

  • Acorn: Alex and I never made it here due to minimal time BUT it for sure looks delicious. It seems to be an extremely unique, electric and contemporary bar and grill in the River North District. Definitely check it out.

  • Il Posti: This is for sure one of those restaurants that if I drove by it, I would for sure have to hop out and take a picture next to it. It seems seriously so beautiful and it even overlooks a lot of downtown Denver.

  • Root Down: We didn’t make it to this one, but we heard amazing things about the food! Highly recommend.

  • The Kitchen: Okay WOW. This was such a cute restaurant. I ordered a mezcal margarita & wow it was so good I ended up getting another! Seriously highly recommend. The vibes were super romantic too!

  • Aventi: This is one of those places with a few restaurants and bars inside. Alex and I got a Mimosa here. It even has a cute rooftop bar. We went during the day, but seems like one of the places that could be bumpin’ at night!!

  • Tag: Alex and I went to dinner here on Saturday night. Wow THE FOOD WAS SERIOUSLY SO GOOD. Like so fresh! We split two types of rolls. We also got a side of brussel sprouts and they were some of the best I have ever had. This is a must if you’re in Denver!

Where to find delicious drinks:

  • Great Divide Brewery Co. or The Wynkoop Brewing Co.: Alex and I never made it here, but we heard that they had the best flights in Denver!

  • CRU: This is a beautiful wine bar with over 350 selections of wine. You can even order wine flights!

  • Corridor 44: Alex and I sat here for a while on Saturday night and just reminisced. The atmosphere is super chill. There weren’t a ton of people at this bar, which was honestly super nice! They have a lot of champagne cocktails (which are bomb). I had never had one before!

  • The Crimson Room: We passed this bar multiple times and thought it seemed super trendy. This bar was packed full of people and looked like a total blast!

Where to get your coffee fix:

  • Little Owl Coffee: Delicious coffee. And cute shop! It’s a great place for photos.

  • Aviano Coffee: WOW this place is so freaking trendy and super modern. It also offers a beautiful patio and delicious pastries.

  • Prodigy Coffeehouse: This is the perfect coffee shop to get some work done or even host a meeting. There is an area for an event space for all types of businesses. A very studious coffeehouse!

  • Corvus: Wow these people are all about their coffee beans. If you love coffee- I would for sure head over here.

Hot spots:

  • THE SOURCE: I put that in all caps because its a MUST GO! This is an area with a bunch of restaurants, vendors, shops and an incredible rooftop view! This is a Denver staple and you for sure don’t want to miss it.

  • Union Station: This is a MUST GO and a historic landmark!

  • Larimer square: Wow this is such a fun area filled with bars, shopping and restaurants. Alex and I spent quite some time over here! We used the bird scooters and just went around to different coffee shops/ boutiques!

  • Little Man: Well y’all know I love to eat healthy BUT it’s good to splurge. This was totally worth splurging on. IT WAS SERIOUSLY THE BEST ICE CREAM. And it’s a good location for photo ops 🙂

  • Denver Botanical Gardens: This was so fun!! There are tons of plants and green houses to see. You could spend an entire day here. We stayed for about an hour or two. It was such nice weather out, so the plants were beaming!

Okay those are all my recommendations for Denver. For sure rent a bird scooter and just people watch. It was such a blast! Here are a few pics I snapped 🙂  Will be posting another travel blog shortly on VEGAS BABYYYY!
